Dog Care Specialist

Brown Dog Inn is a boutique dog boarding and enrichment facility providing exceptional care in a nature-inspired setting. We follow Fear Free® handling techniques and take a behavior-led approach to foster a calm and enjoyable environment for our canine guests.
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone looking to expand their career in animal care with long term commitment
- Physically capable of walking dogs on uneven trails
- General knowledge of canine behavior and health
- Weekend availability
- Flexible and reliable
- Strong customer service and team-player mindset
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather, hands-on with dogs, cleaning, and sanitizing
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- At least 2 years of professional dog experience
About the Role:
- Assist in activities wherever the team needs support
- Must be comfortable walking dogs on leash.
- Monitoring and recording dog behavior, logging notes in charts
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Communicating with teammates clearly and respectfully
- Care for multiple dogs by supervising group play, providing enrichment and exercise
- Preparing and distributing meals
- Administering medications
- Evaluate social behavior and anxiety
- Conduct regular health checks on the guests in our facility

- We aim to maintain a consistent schedule; however, shifts may vary week to week. The ideal candidate will be flexible and available to work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, and 11:00 AM–8:00 PM. Are you able to commit to a variable schedule as needed?
- This position requires availability on weekends and holidays. It is a full-time role consisting of 5 days per week (40 hours). Are you able to commit to a consistent, full-time schedule year-round?
