Responsible for customer service, document processing and related clerical and accounting duties to provide residents and dealerships with accurate and timely driving credentials; motor vehicle transfers and licenses; boat, snowmobile and ATV registrations and transfers; and game and fish privileges.Responsible for license applications and issuance and collection of fees and taxes
Education:
- Interacts positively with internal and external customers. Communicates and interacts effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customers.
- Provides professional and exceptional customer service by exhibiting a pleasant and helpful disposition for all individuals. Greets and answers questions in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the telephone.
- Prepares, evaluates and processes applications for various licenses, title transfers, registrations, and filings to produce current and accurate motor vehicle records in accordance with state statue and processes.
- Processes applications for driver’s license permits and ID’s in accordance with state statue and processes. Alerts the evaluators of possible dangerous drivers.
- Conducts eye screening, takes pictures, and maintains photo imager.
- Processes and issues game and fish licenses.
- Evaluates, prepares and processes Department of Natural Resources (DNR) titles and registrations, in accordance with state statue and processes.
- Handles payment of fees, records transactions, issues receipts, deposits fees, and reconciles daily records.
- Issues and processes all appropriate forms. Verifies application standards before acceptance and data entry.
- Coordinates mobile home transfers with Auditor/Treasurer and Assessor offices.
- Collection of Property Tax.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and protection of customer’s personal data, including but not limited to, social security numbers and driver’s license numbers.
- Maintains knowledge of DVS and DNR procedures, laws and regulations.
- Performs customer service by responding to public inquiries and requests for information.
- Prepares and submits a variety of reports.
- Enters pertinent data into computer databases accurately.
- Organizes and files numerous state applications and forms.
- Operates all office machines, greets the public, answers phone calls, and returns calls to messages left on the answering machine during heavy traffic times in this office.
- Maintains office filing systems and separates obsolete records, prepares for shredding.
- Maintains and ensures accuracy of inventory and state forms.
- Reconciles end of day cash drawers.
- Attend meetings and training, as needed.

Education:
- Associate’s degree with one (1) year of experience in business, accounting, law, or customer service; or
- One-year post-secondary education plus two (2) years of experience in business, accounting, law, or customer service; or
- High school plus three (3) years of experience in business, accounting, law, or customer service.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive in the state of Minnesota.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must comply with all federal and state laws and organizational and departmental policies and regulations.
- Must comply with data practice policies and standards relative to non-public data. Any access to non-public data should be strictly limited to accessing the data that is necessary to fulfill the employment responsibility. While data is being accessed, incumbents should take reasonable measures to ensure the non-public data is not accessed by individuals without a work reason. Once the work reason to access the data is reasonably finished the non-public data must be properly stored according to county policy and the Minnesota Statutes.

- Ability to work under limited supervision with general autonomy in determining how objectives are achieved.
- The ability to use considerable analytical ability to select, evaluate and interpret data from several sources; interpretation of guidelines, policies and procedures is required.
