The Telecom Engineer, Lead designs complex network hardware and software configurations, which typically span multiple business functions and geographic locations. This individual provides the staff with expert technical guidance, direction and support as well as providing the team with day-to-day direction re coordinating data and/or voice communication projects.

$155,000 – $190,000
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. Responsibilities
Technical
- Evaluate the benefits of changes in hardware, communications protocols, switching methods, access methods and tariffs, systems and tools.
- Evaluate performance and capacity of environment to determine required configuration changes, upgrades and feasibility of expanding or enhancing telecom operations
- Prepare and maintain technical specifications and documents, drawings, system documentation and operating manuals.
- Monitor the operation of the network and systems to ensure proper functioning of lines, hardware and software.
- Identify and resolve network problems utilizing structured troubleshooting methods, techniques and tools.
- Participate with vendors and common carriers during problem analysis/resolution as required.
- Recommend equipment for purchase or lease.
- Coordinate efforts pertaining to all data, voice, LAN/WAN, and network activities and support for the firm.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff to ensure key project deliverables are met.
- React to issues and obstacles appropriately and escalate matters to senior management.
- Assist manager with performance management process.
- BS degree in Computer Science, and/or equivalent work experience.
- 6 years' experience in telecom network design, installation, and maintenance.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Ability to use standard desktop tools effectively, including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
- Knowledge of common desktop communications protocols and applications including terminal emulation and host communication.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
