Position: Tax Accountant – Senior to Manager Level | Full-time
Location: Bakersfield, CA (on-site)
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will take an active role in managing tax engagements, serving clients, and helping develop the next generation of professionals within the firm.
· Lead tax engagements from planning through completion
· Review tax returns, workpapers, and supporting documentation
· Research complex tax issues and advise clients on relevant developments
· Serve as a primary point of contact for clients
· Manage engagement timelines, workflow, and deliverables
· Supervise, coach, and develop staff
· Identify opportunities to provide additional value to existing clients
· Participate in firm training, mentoring, and business development initiatives
· Represent Brown Armstrong in professional, charitable, and civic organizations
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has hands-on tax experience in public accounting and is ready to contribute at a high level while continuing to grow professionally.
· Experience in tax services within public accounting at the Senior, Supervisor, or Manager level
· CPA license, EA license, or active progress toward CPA or EA licensure
· Experience supervising, training, or mentoring staff
· Strong communication, organization, and client-service skills
· Ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and multiple engagements
· A collaborative mindset and desire to build lasting client relationships

· Senior-level starting compensation from $78,000, plus extra time incentive pay
· Manager-level starting compensation from $105,000, plus extra time incentives and bonuses
