The Staff Physician serves as a key member of the medical provider team, delivering comprehensive primary care services to patients across there lifespan. This role also includes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, participation in quality initiatives, and potential involvement in hospital-based care and on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality primary medical care in alignment with your specialty
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, exams, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Promote preventive care and patient education
- Utilize diagnostic tools (lab, radiology, etc.) effectively and cost-efficiently
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, and families to ensure coordinated care
- Refer patients to specialists as needed while maintaining continuity of care
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Engage in health promotion and disease prevention activities
- Attend medical staff meetings and contribute to organizational programs
- Support annual healthcare planning and organizational goals
- Supervise Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), as appropriate
- Participate in after-hours on-call coverage
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of an accredited residency program
- Active and unrestricted Florida medical license
- Board certification or board eligibility preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Eligibility for active medical staff membership at a local hospital
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with patients and colleagues
- Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations
