Under limited supervision, the purpose of the job is to plan, execute, and coordinate programs and operations of a campus’ student life program and/or recreation activities to enhance student participation and learning opportunities. The purpose of such programs and activities is to support the intellectual, emotional, and interpersonal/social growth of campus students.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Three years of related experience with three years of supervisory or lead experience required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Daily - 25%: Plans, executes, and oversees programs, activities, and events for various campus Student Life and recreational interests to enhance student participation and learning opportunities. Coordinates space, vendors, and manages large populations.
- Weekly - 20%: Acts as an advisor and liaison to student organizations, ensuring compliance with college and campus policies and procedures. This includes directly communicating relevant information to student organization advisors and developing guidelines, which must receive approval from key personnel. Provides guidance to the Campus Activities Board (CAB) in making decisions related to budget allocations, spending approvals, and program priorities.
- Daily - 10%: Schedules facilities, equipment, and staff for activities; requisitions and coordinates the use of equipment and materials to ensure safety and adhere to college policies and procedures.
- Daily - 10%: Responsible for recruiting, scheduling, supervising, instructing, and training part-time staff and volunteers on college and department policies and procedures. This includes promoting and delivering programs and services, as well as maintaining and using equipment during meetings, seminars, workshops, and training retreats. Provides oversight and coaching for all student staff across various events each week.
- Daily - 10%: Responsible for collecting data to evaluate initiatives, including tracking attendance, gathering program feedback, and generating reports for administration and CAB.
- On-going - 5%: Develops student leadership programs both on and off campus through seminars, forums, retreats, and workshops. Oversees the Event Lab series. Provides guidance on event planning, budgeting, marketing, and time management.
- Other - 10%: Monitors and inspects student life facilities, including offices and storage areas both on and off-site, as well as student life equipment. Recommends repairs, improvements, disposal, renovations, and additions while adhering to college policies and procedures for inventory and facilities.
- Daily - 5%: Manages social media and marketing for Student Life initiatives, which includes: - Posting daily on campus social media accounts - Maintaining ongoing engagement and interaction with students online - Designing or overseeing the creation of student-produced marketing materials (such as flyers and graphics) for all events - Preparing monthly campus calendars in both print and digital formats - Ensuring branding consistency for the department
- Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
