Job Summary: As a Grocery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the grocery department, including inventory management, ordering, stocking, and customer service. Your role involves leading and supervising a team of grocery clerks, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and maximizing department profitability. Examples of Duties:
Supervise and train grocery department staff, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and support.
Monitor inventory levels and order grocery products to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
Receive deliveries of grocery products, inspecting for quality and freshness, and ensuring proper storage.
Stock shelves and displays with new merchandise, ensuring items are neatly arranged and properly labeled.
Implement merchandising strategies to drive sales and promote new products and promotions.
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of perishable items.
Provide exceptional customer service, including assisting customers with product selection and addressing inquiries and concerns.
Monitor department sales performance and implement strategies to increase profitability and meet sales targets.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of grocery products and categories, including dry goods, canned goods, and perishable items.
Familiarity with inventory management principles and ordering processes.
