We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee large-scale construction projects from inception to completion. This pivotal role involves managing on-site operations, coordinating teams, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy civil and commercial construction, with expertise in project scheduling, blueprint interpretation, and construction management software. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate construction schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide crews and subcontractors effectively.
- Manage crews by assigning tasks, supervising work quality, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Oversee safety protocols in compliance with OSHA and federal construction safety regulations; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to resolve issues promptly and ensure smooth workflow.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify work meets industry standards and project requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation including daily reports, safety logs, change orders, and project schedules.
- Lead construction drawing reviews and interpret technical documents to facilitate accurate execution of work plans.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing heavy civil or commercial construction projects as a superintendent or similar role.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Prolog, HeavyBid, or equivalent tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, project management principles, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards.
- Extensive on-site construction experience with a focus on pipeline projects or large-scale infrastructure developments preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for managing crews and supervising subcontractors.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and federal construction safety standards.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes related to construction estimating and cost control measures.
- Valid management certifications or training related to construction supervision is a plus.
