Intensive In-Home Counselors

To this end, Behavioral Specialists have the following responsibilities:

• Provide clinically sound intensive in-home therapy and counseling for client and family to reduce the risk of out of home placement.
• Establish appropriate working rapport with client and family.
• Utilize various strategies and therapeutic interventions with client to improve their overall emotional coping.
• Provide 24 hour crisis intervention for client and family.
• Reporting all crisis/emergencies with client and family to Clinical Supervisor immediately.
• Assist Assessor and/or Clinical Supervisor in gathering information for initial assessment.
• Collaborate with other necessary service providers (schools, psychologist, psychiatric and social services and all other mental health providers) on an as needed basis to provide wrap around services for client.
• Participate in IEP, 504 Plan meetings, etc. and other meetings as need for client.
• Attend all annual mandatory agency and staff trainings( Handle with Care, CPR First Aid, Human Rights, HIPPA)
• Submit all progress, reimbursement and accountability sheets on a weekly basis.
• Complete ISP within 30days of the initiation of services.
• Minimum of 6 hours of services provided weekly not to exceed 10 hours without administration approval upon notification of crisis situation.
• Provide well written documentation of individual sessions.
• Coordinate services for family sessions with an LMHP or outpatient therapy.
• Maintain that all charts are up to date and update needed documentation annually.
• Attend mandatory weekly supervision.
• Must be willing to work as a part of a clinical team and assist colleagues if needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification:

The qualified applicant will possess a bachelor’s degree in a counseling or social work field from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents. Qualified applicant will be a QMHP-C a person in the human services field who is trained and experienced in providing psychiatric or mental health services to children or adolescence who have a mental illness.
