Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Copier Field Technician role based in Bohemia, NY. The Copier Field Technician will install, maintain, and repair copiers, multifunction printers, and related office equipment at customer locations across Long Island. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing hardware and software issues, performing preventative maintenance, replacing parts and consumables, and ensuring equipment is configured for optimal performance. The role involves traveling to multiple client sites, documenting service activities, maintaining accurate inventory of tools and parts, and providing clear, professional communication with customers. The technician will also educate users on basic operation and care of equipment, escalate complex issues when needed, and collaborate with the service team to meet response-time and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Technical skills in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of copiers, printers, or similar electro-mechanical office equipment.
- Basic knowledge of networking and connectivity, including device setup, driver installation, and integration with office systems.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively at client sites and within a team.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple service calls, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate service records.
- Ability to use hand tools, testing equipment, and service software safely and effectively.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel daily to customer locations across Long Island.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school or relevant certifications in electronics, IT, or office equipment service are a plus.
- Comfort working on-site in varied office environments and lifting or moving equipment as required, within reasonable safety limits.
- Previous field service experience or background in office equipment, electronics, or related technical roles is strongly preferred.
