Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role is essential in maintaining efficient store operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. Experience with POS systems, retail sales, and cash handling is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately
• Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and integrity
• Maintain knowledge of store products for effective upselling and product demos
• Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing displays
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
• Promote store promotions and special offers to enhance sales opportunities
• Support supervising staff during busy periods or when needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus
• Strong basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
• Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base
• Ability to perform retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and totals
• Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy store setting
• Supervising experience is desirable but not required; leadership qualities are appreciated

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
