Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Construction Estimator / Bid Coordinator to help expand our bidding pipeline and streamline our procurement process. In this role, you will track down new public and private contract opportunities, assemble complete bid submittals, and represent our team at mandatory pre-bid meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Bid Sourcing: Actively monitor public procurement portals (PlanetBids, Cal eProcure, local school districts, and municipalities) to identify relevant athletic field, earthmoving, and site development opportunities.
- Bid Preparation & Submittal: Review project specs, plans, and wage requirements (including DIR/prevailing wage) to complete accurate bid forms, bonds, and required submittal paperwork ahead of strict deadlines.
- Pre-Bid Attendance: Attend mandatory in-person and virtual pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs to assess site conditions and scope details.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform basic plan takeoffs, verify material quantities, and organize subcontractor/vendor quotes to support final bid pricing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2 years of experience in construction estimating, bid coordination, or public works procurement (experience in athletic fields, precision grading, or civil site work is a plus).
- Familiarity with California public bidding procedures, DIR compliance, and prevailing wage jobs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regional pre-bid travel.
- High proficiency with PDF software (Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat), Microsoft Excel, and web-based bidding portals.
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Schedule & Compensation
