What are the responsibilities and job description for the Route Drop Walker (Door-to-Door Flyer Distribution) position at Broom?
Full-time · W-2 · Non-exempt
About the Role
Door Local is hiring Route Drop Walkers to deliver flyers across the Denver metro.
This is straightforward, outcome-driven work. You’re paid hourly for your time, with an extra performance bonus for each verified route segment you complete. Clear expectations, clear metrics, and fair pay tied to performance.
If you enjoy being outdoors, walking, and being measured on results (not office politics), this role is for you.
Important: This job requires an Android phone, a personal vehicle, and the ability to walk 6–10 miles per day. If you do not meet all three requirements, this role will not be a fit.
Quick self-check: If the idea of walking for a few hours and hanging 80 flyers per hour minimum sounds impossible or miserable, this probably isn’t your job. If it sounds doable and you like clear goals, keep reading.
How Much You Can Make
Most walkers average 2 segments per day after training.
2 segments/day: solid day’s pay segment bonuses
3 segments/day: higher total pay with bonuses stacking
Most reliable walkers land in the $20–$27/hr effective range (base pay segment bonuses) depending on pace and route, with top performers earning more on strong days.
Day 1 includes a short paid route evaluation to confirm mutual fit.
How You’re Paid
W-2, non-exempt. Time is tracked and paid hourly every 2 weeks.
Base pay: hourly rate (at or above Denver minimum wage) for all hours worked.
Performance bonus: for each verified route segment (each ~250–300 doors) you complete in a 2-week pay period, you earn a segment bonus.
Bonus timing: segment bonuses are calculated at the end of each 2-week pay period and paid with your regular paycheck.
Your hourly base guarantees you never earn less than your hours at the legal minimum. The per-segment bonus rewards people who actually move and finish clean segments during the pay period.
What You’ll Do
- Walk pre-mapped neighborhood routes and hang flyers according to SOP.
- Complete 1–3 route segments per day (each ~250–300 doors).
- Use our Android mobile app for GPS breadcrumb tracking and photo checkpoints.
- Follow safety guidelines and attend short daily huddles.
- Maintain a high QA pass rate (reruns required on misses).
Pace & Performance Expectations
Our routes are built for people who like to move.
After training, most walkers who enjoy walking can comfortably hang 80 flyers per hour minimum on normal routes.
We keep it simple: your main KPIs are segments completed per day, doors per hour, and QA pass rate.
During your first few days, we’ll check your natural pace on live routes. If it turns out this pace isn’t realistic for you, no hard feelings – this just won’t be the right fit.
If you already walk a lot, have done delivery or warehouse work, or enjoy hitting step goals, you’ll be fine here.
What Counts as a “Verified Segment”
- GPS coverage ≥95% of mapped route
- Required photo checkpoints throughout the segment via app
- Proper flyer placement (no bunching or skipping)
- Completed within the assigned time window
Schedule
Monday–Friday, daylight hours (weekends optional for extra segments).
Full-time and part-time available; routes vary by day and location.
Paid time starts when you begin your first assigned route segment in the field and ends when you complete your last segment of the day.
Transportation
Personal vehicle required to reach assigned routes across the Denver metro.
Public transit and ride-shares are not suitable for this role, as routes vary daily and may require traveling between multiple neighborhoods.
You’ll be stocked with flyers weekly, then go directly from home to your assigned areas (no daily office check-in).
RequirementsAndroid Phone Required
- You must have an Android smartphone capable of installing our route tracking app.
- The job requires GPS tracking, photo checkpoints, and route verification through the app.
- iPhones are not supported for this role.
You’re a Fit If
- You are physically able to walk 6–10 miles per day while delivering flyers door-to-door.
- You can comfortably move at a brisk, consistent pace (targeting ~80 flyers per hour after training).
- You’re comfortable using a smartphone app and following SOPs.
- You like being measured and rewarded on results.
- You’re punctual, honest, and take pride in doing simple work well.
