Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG) is a dynamic Christian non-profit vocational program for adults with special needs. Our mission is to celebrate and empower our Citizens through meaningful work. We are looking for an individual with a passion for special needs adults to join our Cafe team to supervise our citizens as they work in our cafe. College degree is preferred and at least one year of experience with special needs adults is required.

DutiesResponsibilities:

• Responsible for safety and well-being of our adults with special needs as they work in the kitchen and cafe.
• Creates a meaningful, positive work environment for our Citizens
• Adapts the environment to set our Citizens up for success
• Works along with the Cafe Manager and Cafe staff to provide an excellent guest experience including serving customers and mantaining a clean environment.
• Runs the register and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
• Make Specialty coffee drinks

Job Type: Part Time: Mon-Saturday 8:30-5:15 (Part time schedule will vary)

Required experience:

At least one year of experience with adults with special needs required

Retail Sales Associate
A successful Retail Sales Associate represents the Brookwood in Georgetown vision and ensures a pleasurable shopping experience for guests by providing personal attention, knowledgeable help, and outstanding guest service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides outstanding service to all customers by engaging with all customers with selecting merchandise and generally attending to their needs.
2. Assures the background, history, and mission of Brookwood in Georgetown is effectively communicated with guests.
3. Assists with merchandising activities of the store including displaying, restocking, and arranging shelves, counters, and tables to be effective sales devices.
4. Contributes to the cleanliness of the store area by cleaning and dusting shelves, displays, counters, floors, and restrooms.
5. Assures that all merchandise is properly marked or tagged when displayed and is properly and accurately charged at time of purchase.
6. Accepts payments, wraps or bags merchandise and presents receipts of each transaction to the guest.
7. Help with online store by fulfilling orders in a timely manner.
8. Keeps sales records, balance receipts and follows inventory guidelines to document the day's sales activity. Opens and closes the store following established procedures for readiness and safety.
9. Looks after the safety of customers, Citizens, and co-workers and immediately reports any unsafe conditions to their supervisor. Always initiates safe work habits and never takes chances or risks personal safety.
10. Assists with events (ex: luncheons, Christmas Affair, Honey Launch, etc.) in both shops and in the Cafe.
