The HR Generalist is a department of one and will be responsible for all areas of Human Resoruces at BiG including recruiting and hiring, payroll and benefit processing, compliance oversight, and daily HR operations. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will have a strong background in HR best practices.

What Will you do?
- Maintains the utmost confidentiality in dealing with employee records and business information.
- Uses excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, managers, directors, and members of the public.
- Responsible for all recruiting and hiring.
- Responsible for records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, payroll, and terminations.
- Oversees employee benefits program responsibilities by directing the administration of the group health insurance and supplemental insurance plans including COBRA, HIPPA, and FMLA.
- Administers the workers compensation program.
- Complies with federal, and state legal requirements such as EEO-1 reporting, Texas New hire reporting, FLSA, and OSHA.
- Conducts new employee orientation including benefit enrollment and policy explanation aimed at fostering a positive attitude towards community goals and core values.
What do you know?
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in management/human resources field is strongly preferred
- Minimum of one to three years' experience working as an HR Professional
- Strong computer skills and competency in Office 360 as well as communication platforms and payroll systems
- Must be able to communicate effectively and have professional written and verbal communications skills.
- Must have the ability to motivate people and cultivate our culture
- Must possess a high level of self-confidence, professionalism and be able to perform in stressful situations
