Job Title: Financial Services Director at Brookwood Church.
About the Role
The Financial Services Director oversees all financial operations of the church, ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and accountability while stewarding resources to advance the church’s mission and vision.
You will lead budgeting, forecasting, accounting, reporting, compliance, and stewardship practices. Your work will support church leadership, ministry teams, and the congregation by providing clear financial insight, identifying opportunities for growth, safeguarding assets, and aligning resources to mission priorities.
This role requires membership at Brookwood Church.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and reporting.
- Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses for leadership and the Advisory Team.
- Ensure compliance, maintain internal controls, coordinate audits/reviews, and monitor cash flow.
- Develop and guide stewardship initiatives, giving administration, and financial planning for fundraising/capital campaigns.
- Lead and develop the Financial Services team.
- Communicate clear financial updates, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders across the church.
- Improve financial processes and controls to safeguard assets and reduce fraud risk.
- Partner with the Executive Leadership Team, ministry leaders, and HR on planning, budgeting, compensation, and benefits.

What You Bring
- 5 years financial management experience (nonprofit/church preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and financial best practices
- Previous experience partnering with senior leadership
- Proven competence leading and managing a financial team to successfully achieve goals and objectives
- Proficiency with accounting software/church finance platforms; strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
Work Environment & Expectations
- Schedule: Monday through Friday; periodic weekends/holidays.
- Work setting: On-site.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: Starts at $80k; salary commensurate with experience.
