Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for residents and clients, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health needs. Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care is preferred. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans
- Support patients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assistive devices
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs
- Observe and document patient conditions, including changes in behavior or health status
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and infection control practices
- Support patients with memory care, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and autism spectrum needs
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans
- Respond promptly to emergency situations using CPR or first aid skills when necessary
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing home, or hospice care preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and medication administration
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's/dementia, autism, or disabilities is highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physical tasks such as assisting with transfers or mobility support
- Strong communication skills and compassionate attitude toward clients of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Valid driver’s license may be required for certain roles involving transportation responsibilities
