Brief Description:
The Technology Risk Associate will focus on risk management advisory functions, including technology governance and process development, reporting and dashboard creation, committee and Segment Risk reporting for Technology Risk Programs, which could include Data Protection and Privacy, Mergers & Acquisitions (‘M&A’), or Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
Detailed Description:
As an Associate in Technology Risk, you will gain risk management core competencies while working in tandem with HNB technology teams, operations colleagues and business lines, and HNB Risk leaders. You’ll collaborate with experienced risk colleagues to drive key HNB initiatives and projects, including identifying and controlling technology risk and controls associated with data and M& A activities, performance measurement (controls monitoring, testing and assurance), and stakeholder education. Primary Responsibilities:
- Breakdown features to elicit, analyze, document, and validate requirements/user stories.
- Develop and implement technology policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development of first-line data risk programs and build guidance to all Segments to ensure consistent and effective implementation.
- Assist in both regular and targeted risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technology risk management is integrated into business processes and systems.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, and regulators to stay informed of industry standards and best practices.
- Evaluate and create data metrics and provide regular reports to senior management on the effectiveness of the elements program.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and trends in technology risk and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Collaborates with regulators, Second Line and Third Line to address issues with plausible action plans and target dates.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- 1 year of analysis experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent transferable experience through coursework, internships, or work experience in lieu of participation in the Elevate Program.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate and present requirements and issues clearly and concisely.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Strong experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong business and technology aptitude with a willingness to learn and understand business and software solutions.
- Ability to translate risk definitions and proce into relatable concepts for business partners and stakeholders.
- Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively with all business and IT areas.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- High level of professionalism, confidence, and ability to build credibility with team members and business partners.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in a financial or regulated environment.
- Internship or project experience in a risk related area.
- Experience creating process maps.
- Experience with Visio or other process mapping tools.
