Automation QA Engineer

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced Automation QA Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions that improve software quality, increase release confidence, and support continuous delivery initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright and/or Cypress, and a passion for building scalable, maintainable automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using JavaScript, TypeScript, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Build and enhance end-to-end, integration, regression, and smoke test suites.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define testing strategies and quality standards.
• Identify, document, and track defects while partnering with development teams to drive timely resolution.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and improve overall test reliability.
• Contribute to automation framework architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure automation code is scalable, maintainable, and reusable.
• Support manual testing efforts for new features, exploratory testing, and validation activities as needed.
• Stay current on emerging automation tools, technologies, and industry trends.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar test automation frameworks.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated UI and API test suites.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, test planning, and defect management.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Experience with Git and version control best practices.
• Solid understanding of web applications, browser behavior, DOM structure, and debugging tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, REST Assured, Axios, or Playwright API testing.
• Experience with TypeScript development.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with test reporting tools such as Allure, Mochawesome, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of performance, accessibility, and cross-browser testing.
• Experience working in cloud-based environments.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized test execution.
