Platform Integration Engineer (Hybrid Cloud / AWS Migration)
Long term contract; 12 months that will likely extend
4 days/onsite in Richmond, VA
We’re looking for a Platform Integration Engineer who thrives in complex, evolving environments and knows how to keep systems running while transformation is actively underway. This role is critical in bridging legacy on-premise infrastructure with modern cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration throughout a large-scale AWS migration.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement integrations between on-prem systems and AWS services in a hybrid environment
- Maintain system stability and performance during cloud migration efforts
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across network, application, and infrastructure layers
- Partner with cross-functional teams (network, security, application, cloud) to ensure cohesive system functionality
- Support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives by enabling reliable, scalable integration patterns
- Monitor and optimize system health using observability and logging tools
What Good Looks Like
You’re a systems thinker who understands how everything connects—from legacy infrastructure to modern cloud services. You’re comfortable operating in transitional states and can pragmatically balance innovation with stability.
Required Experience
- 6–10 years in systems integration, cloud migration, or hybrid infrastructure
- Proven experience working in hybrid (on-prem cloud) environments
- Background supporting enterprise-scale transformation programs
- Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple technical domains
Technical Skills
- Hybrid Connectivity: VPNs, Direct Connect, hybrid DNS
- Integration & Messaging: APIs, middleware, Kafka, MQ, or similar technologies
- Identity & Access: Active Directory, SSO, IAM federation
- Observability Tools: Splunk, CloudWatch, ELK stack
- Cloud Platforms: AWS preferred
