Basic Job Functions
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead a team of engineers, estimators, and/or detailers to provide designs, quotes, and drawings for transmission, distribution, substation, and other utility structures, primarily tubular steel poles, arms, and accessories.
- Interview and hire new teammates to build and grow the team.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and accountability to teammates.
- Ensure consistent application of current design policies, procedures, and practices.
- Manage team priorities and set clear expectations.
- Guide teammates to deliver quality work on time with consistent results.
- Actively participate within the division’s leadership team to drive continuous improvement and overall business success.
- Support the sales team through customer interactions, promoting the value proposition and building strong partnerships.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to deliver safe, competitive product designs.
- Occasional travel is required to visit customers, support plants, attend trade shows, and more.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership experience
- At least two years of utility structures industry experience (pole, tower, or transmission line design preferred)
- At least one year of steel products design or leadership experience
- Prior success in a customer-facing work environment
- Structural Engineer licensure in any state or Model Law Structural Engineer designation
- Degree with a structural engineering emphasis
- Master’s degree in engineering or business
- Willingness to relocate for future advancement opportunities
Salary : $120 - $150
