Position:Team Chairperson – Special Education – Long Term Sub
Location:Brookside Elementary School
Schedule:August 24, 2026 – June 11, 2027 (last day subject to change)
Salary: TBD
To Start: August 24, 2026
Qualifications:
•Mass. Department of Education Teacher License – certified in special education;
•Master’s Degree required;
•Leadership skills;
•Must be familiar with Dept. of Education regulations;
•Must be familiar with elementary school curriculum;
•Must be familiar with elementary school providers and all services offered;
•Knowledge about age appropriate developmental milestones for elementary school students;
•Experience facilitating team meetings;
•At least three years’ public school experience;
•Computer literate;
•Team player with strong consensus building skills;
•Ability to adhere to required timelines
•Ability to administer and interpret diagnostic instruments
•CPI restraint certified
Duties:
•Chair/facilitate Initial, Annual, and Re-evaluation Team Meeting;
•Coordinate IEPs, progress reports, evaluations, and ESY as applicable;
•Work with Transportation Director regarding special transportation;
•Attend transition meetings with elementary/middle school staff;
•Participate in program development;
•Evaluate students and programs;
•Schedule and group students;
•Assist with grouping and implementation of accommodations for MCAS testing;
•Assist with Special Education Budget for designated school/schools;
•Make recommendations for placement of Behavior Assistants and Teaching Assistants;
•Resource to parents and administration;
•Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education
