Dietary Cook Behavioral Care Facility PART TIME

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cook to join our Long Term Care Behavioral Facility team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals that meet the dietary needs of residents with behavioral health conditions. Your culinary expertise will help create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel cared for and valued. Duties

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, menu plans, and residents’ specific nutritional needs
• Plan menus that incorporate balanced, flavorful options while considering dietary restrictions and preferences
• Handle food with proper safety and sanitation practices to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment
• Assist with food presentation to enhance visual appeal and dining experience for residents
• Support food service operations by serving meals efficiently and courteously to residents and staff
• Maintain accurate food handling records, inventory, and storage procedures to minimize waste and ensure freshness
• Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare team to accommodate special diets or meal modifications as needed

Experience

• Previous experience working in a dietary department or as a dietary aide within healthcare or long-term care settings
• Culinary experience in fine dining, catering, or restaurant environments demonstrating strong food preparation skills
• Knowledge of food safety standards, proper knife skills, and food handling procedures
• Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
• Familiarity with the food industry or kitchen environments, including cooking techniques and kitchen equipment use
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and assist residents effectively
