Role Description

This is a full-time or part-time on-site role for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner, with dual responsibilities in rheumatology care and infusion services. Located conveniently near Carrollwood Village, Tampa, FL, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with our rheumatologist, providing advanced clinical care while also managing infusion therapy for patients receiving biologic and non-biologic treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical NP Duties

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories, physical exams, and review of diagnostic studies.
• Diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of rheumatologic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, and more.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Document patient encounters and maintain accurate, timely medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Provide patient education on disease management, medications, and lifestyle support.
• Collaborate with rheumatologists, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervising physician

Infusion RN Duties:

• Administer IV infusions, injections, and other therapies according to established protocols.
• Monitor patients during and after infusions, recognizing and responding to adverse reactions.
• Insert and maintain IV lines to ensure safe medication administration.
• Educate patients and families on medications, infusion procedures, and self-care.
• Maintain accurate infusion records and comply with safety and infection-control standards.
• Support inventory management and infusion suite readiness.

Qualifications:

• Current Florida Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority (DEA) and certification (ANCC or AANP).
• Current BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
• New grads are welcome, or prior experience in rheumatology, internal medicine, or a related specialty preferred (training available for motivated candidates)
• Strong IV skills and comfort with managing infusion reactions.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to build strong therapeutic relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team environment
• Prior experience in rheumatology or primary care settings preferred
• Bilingual, Fluent in English and Spanish, highly preferred.
