Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about providing excellent patient care. In this leadership role, you will support the clinical team, ensure smooth daily operations, and help maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:Clinical Support:

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring excellent patient care and comfort.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and organize instruments, materials, and equipment.
  • Take and process dental x-rays (if certified).
  • Ensure all operatories are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation in patient charts.

Leadership & Supervision:

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to dental assistants and support team members.
  • Train new assistants on protocols, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Ensure daily schedules are managed efficiently with optimal patient flow.
  • Lead morning huddles and support coordination with the front office and providers.

Inventory & Equipment Oversight:

  • Monitor and order clinical supplies and materials to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions or required maintenance.
  • Ensure sterilization area is managed according to OSHA and infection control standards.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Oversee adherence to all OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control policies.
  • Ensure the team follows sterilization protocols and proper use of PPE.
  • Maintain records of safety checks and compliance documentation.

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment with professionalism and compassion.
  • Provide clear instructions for post-treatment care and oral hygiene.
  • Support treatment planning by reviewing doctor recommendations and helping patients understand procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Current RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) certification in Texas.
  • Minimum 3 years of dental assisting experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or senior role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and clinical workflows.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and initiative.
  • Familiarity with dental software - Open Dental is a plus).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
