Position Summary
Brooks Winery is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of the winery. This position averages 15–20 hours per week and requires on-site work at the winery each week. The Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, maintain accurate financial records, and support management with timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Manage vendor invoices, payments, and customer billing
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Process payroll and related filings
- Assist with month-end, quarter end year-end close processes
- Generate basic financial reports (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Coordinate with external accountants, as needed
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and winery regulations
- Support budgeting and cash flow tracking
- Handle miscellaneous administrative accounting tasks as needed
- Support General Manager, Winemaker and Managing Director with timely, regular reporting and tasks as requested
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and best practices
- Proficiency with Quickbooks accounting software
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial reports
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
- Experience in a winery environment is a plus
Work Schedule & Location
- 15–20 hours per week
- On-site presence at Brooks Winery required as needed
- Schedule is flexible within business needs
Compensation
- Hourly rate commensurate with experience
