`Brooks-Thompson Family Child Care is seeking a reliable and responsible Part-Time Van Driver to safely transport children to and from local schools. The ideal candidate is punctual, patient, and committed to maintaining a safe and positive environment for children during transportation.
When transportation duties are not required, the driver may assist staff with light childcare activities and supervision as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport children to and from school using the childcare van
- Ensure children enter and exit the vehicle safely
- Follow all traffic laws and childcare transportation safety guidelines
- Conduct basic safety checks of the vehicle before driving
- Maintain transportation attendance records
- Communicate with the childcare provider regarding schedules or concerns
- Assist with light childcare activities and supervision if transportation needs change
Requirements
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Must pass background check and fingerprint clearance (Live Scan)
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Comfortable supervising children during transportation
- Ability to follow safety procedures and childcare regulations
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children is a plus
Part-Time
Morning and afternoon school transportation shifts (hours may vary)
