Provides occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Delivers patient-centered treatment interventions to support patients in achieving optimal independence, function, and quality of life.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the supervising Occupational Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, abilities, and preferences.
- Provides skilled occupational therapy interventions utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques and activities.
- Monitors and communicates patient progress, changes in physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status, and environmental factors to assist with treatment modifications and discharge planning.
- Educates patients and families/caregivers on home exercise programs, safety recommendations, and strategies to support continued progress after discharge.
- Maintains effective communication with physicians, rehabilitation team members, patients, and families to ensure coordinated care.
Documentation & Productivity
- Completes accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation in accordance with department policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Maintains accurate billing, productivity records, treatment notes, patient education documentation, and discharge recommendations.
- Manages daily schedule to achieve departmental productivity expectations while ensuring high-quality patient care.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participates in staff meetings, education opportunities, and mandatory training.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to patient rights, safety practices, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies.

Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Florida.
- Current hands-on Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and clinical skills.
- Ability to maintain professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice.
