Basic Function
Perform a wide variety of duties to support the Metrology functions of the department. Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair test and measurement equipment. Administer equipment record and calibration databases.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Set up, test, calibrate and maintain test and measurement equipment in accordance with established company procedures.
- Analyze, repair, and troubleshoot metrology equipment.
- Establish calibration intervals based on internal/external data and manufacturer recommendations.
- Update calibration and asset tracking databases.
- Administration of records in accordance with established procedures
- Conduct experiments in support of metrology development and process improvement.
- Interface with production supervisors and managers to meet production requirements.
- Assist and advise in preparation of calibration and maintenance procedures (work instructions).
- Support company continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to follow all safety procedures.
- Regular attendance and ability to get along in a team environment.
- Manual calibration of dimensional, torque pressure, electronic, analog, and proprietary test equipment using lab standards (e.g., Fluke multi-product calibrators, Molboxes, Brooks Flow controllers)
- Create test procedures using manufacturers specifications.
- Support customer and ISO audits
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification in electronic engineering technician (EET) or an Associate degree in a relevant metrology field preferred
- 1 years relevant experience in calibration/metrology in a commercial laboratory
- Advanced understanding of relevant metrological standards (e.g., flow, pressure, vacuum, mechanical).
- Strong communication skills; including written, verbal and listening skills
- Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
- Ability to provide precise, accurate and repeatable calibration data
- Understand and demonstrate ability in use and operation of electrical/electronic equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, soldering equipment, power supplies, and DAQ’s
- Advanced PC knowledge including use of Microsoft Office tools.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, NIST
- Experience in communication with customer and peers, including ability to mentor or train
