Job Title: Fueler (2nd shift, 2:00pm to 10:30pm Monday through Friday)

Job Summary
As a member of the Shop Department, the 2nd shift Fueler at Brooks Construction assists with the cleaning, fueling, and prepping of equipment for the next day's work requirements. Responsibilities include cleaning and organizing construction equipment and vehicles, ensuring safety compliance, and completing daily inspection checklists.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Pumps fuel into various vehicles and equipment daily
- Checks tires on all vehicles fueled and identifies those needing repair or replacement
- Checks headlights, taillights, and turn signals on vehicles fueled, identifying those needing repair
- Completes daily inspection reports on all vehicles and equipment
- Fills water wagons, water tanks, propane tanks, and fuel supply tanks as needed
- Locks gas pumps and secure all buildings
- Verifies gates are locked and closed at the end of the night
- Runs parts as needed
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists others in department as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge of CMVs and inspection processes
- Ability to operate forklift, bobcat, excavator, and loader occasionally
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral and written)
- Dependability, organization, problem-solving, and adaptability
- Sense of urgency and ability to work independently
- Customer service orientation
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and safety-conscious mindset
- Ability to sustain long periods of physical activity with interruptions
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1-year hands-on, labor-intensive experience
- Experience working around heavy machinery preferred
- Experience in a safety-focused environment preferred
Physical Requirements
- Lifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs frequently
- Pushing/Pulling: Up to 50 lbs frequently
- Driving: Regular driving of automatic and possibly standard transmission vehicles
- Movement Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, and keyboarding; occasional sitting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, climbing, crawling, and reaching above shoulder level
- Use of Hands: Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and handling materials
- Environmental Exposure: Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat and cold, dust, wet surfaces, uneven terrain, and standing on concrete; frequent travel; frequent work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Working Environment
- Individual will be working in a shop/yard/field (outside) environment
- Ability to work in adverse conditions, including rain, snow, extreme heat or cold, water, mud, dust, etc.
- Individual will be working with internal customers (Foremen, Plant Operators, and Department Management)
- Individual will flex hours with seasonal fluctuations or business needs
