The Mechanic/General Fabricator is responsible for repair of but not limited to: machinery; electrical; plumbing; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); carpentry; painting; and other building systems, and fabricating and welding all plant needs.
Responsibilities
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
- Appropriately communicates with Quality Assurance on repairs that have an impact or potential impact on general food safety areas.
- Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
- Welds and fabricates all plant needs, as well of pipefitting.
- Inspects work performed by team members.
- Tracks/ensures workers time, materials, and other resources are being logged for inventory purposes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Repair all motor, gearbox, and all other mechanical needs: such as yearly rebuilds, inspections and breakdowns.
- PM all machines at their time intervals.
- Facility and grounds maintenance.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as mechanical, welding, pipefitting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cohesively with team members, including outside of Maintenance.
- Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
