Job Summary
The Middle School Health Teacher position is a full-time teaching position that will work with all of our students in 6th and 7th Grade. All Brooklyn RISE teachers are responsible for intellectual preparation for each lesson, building strong and positive relationships with students and families, using data to tailor their instruction, and actively engaging in collaboration with their colleagues. Essential Functions
- Execute daily lesson plans for all assigned blocks
- Implement all Brooklyn RISE routines and procedures with fidelity
- Complete weekly lesson annotations and internalization (submit for feedback as requested/required by instructional coach)
- Actively participate in all professional development sessions and weekly coaching sessions
- Incorporate feedback from coaches in a timely manner
- Communicate weekly with families and other key stakeholders
- Provide students with frequent and accurate behavioral and academic feedback
- Identify students who are academically at risk and initiate effective intervention strategies
- Consistently analyze student data and engage in self-reflection on practices
- Complete all duties, posts and tasks as assigned

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate's degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum two years of teaching preferred.
- New York State teacher license/certification preferred.
- Successful classroom manager who has used structure, incentives, and high expectations to drive student success.
- Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with special learning needs in an inclusive classroom setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, especially with families and community members.
- Passion for health and fitness education!
