What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist position at Brooklyn Hospital Center?
The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Coordinates delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff. Maintains performance activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or higher in Physical Therapy from a New York State Registered or Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) / American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Accredited Physical Therapy Program
- Three (3) or more years of experience in all aspects of physical therapy.
- Current New York State Licensed Physical Therapist
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.)
- Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge of physical therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same.
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
