What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem - Newborn Hearing Screener position at Brooklyn Hospital Center?
The Newborn Hearing Screener under the tutelage of licensed Audiologist is responsible for assessing all newborns for hearing using Otoaccoustics Emission and/or Algo hearing screeners. Documents the results in the Electronic Medical Records and log, as well as communicates to the Audiologist all missed patients for follow-up appointments and maintains a tracking system.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED
- Experience in a healthcare setting - Preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Proficiently read and write in English
- Legible handwriting
- Moderate data processing/typing skills.
- Ability to meet public, communicate clearly with people and other professionals.
