Status/Hours: Full time 35 hours per week; Some evening and weekend coverage is required
Salary Range: $40,000 - $40,000
Program Description
The Education Center provides adult education services to the Brooklyn community. We serve students with GED preparation classes, ESL classes, and vocational training. In addition, the Education Center operates a Family Welcome Center in which we provide case management & wrap-around services, workforce development programming, and regular community workshops & events. Many of our students speak Spanish, Arabic, or Chinese as their first language.

Responsibilities
- Case management and career counseling services for students in GED preparation and ESL programs
- Work with students in the development of education & employment plans
- Intake for students entering GED preparation and ESL programs
- Pre-testing, and post-testing using TABE, Best Plus 2.0, and Best Literacy
- Maintain retention through regular check-ins and meetings with students
- Follow up with students who have exited the program
- Keep up-to-date case notes
- Conduct job readiness workshops
- Assist learners with employment, internship, and college applications
- Collection of vital records
- Attend professional development training
- Other duties, as assigned

- Bachelor's degree required
- Language skills in Spanish, Arabic, and/or Chinese are preferred
- One year experience in case management and/or counseling
- Strong computer skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be resourceful
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and work as part of a team
- Ability communicate effectively in the face of stress, feedback, or change
