About Us

Since 1978, BCHS has helped thousands of individuals and families in crisis work toward stability, independence, and a place to call home. Our purpose is simple and bold: end homelessness in Brooklyn and build communities that are socially rich, racially just, and economically strong.

Each year, we provide safe, clean, and supportive housing to more than 1,200 formerly homeless and housing-vulnerable children and adults. We focus on dignity, hope, and practical support that helps people build the skills and confidence to live independently and thrive.

What makes BCHS unique is our commitment to community. We don’t just offer housing—we create belonging. Connection is at the core of our programs, services, and spaces, because everyone who walks through our doors deserves a supportive community that helps them grow.
