What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Program Director (AI) position at Brooklyn Community Housing & Services, Inc.?
QUALIFICATIONS: BA preferred plus 2 years social service experience or an AA with three years of social services experience or a High School diploma with 5 years work experience. Knowledge of public/private housing resources, referral services, and experience working with homeless families preferred. Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and writing skills necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Act as assistant to the Program Director in overseeing the overall operations of Arbor Inn. Supervise the Case Managers, Housing staff, Case Aides, and Operations Assistant. Share responsibility with other staff for the safety, security and maintenance of the facility.
1. Perform administrative and clinical supervision of the Case Managers, Housing staff, Case Aides and Operations Assistant.
2. Assist the Program Director in monitoring and tracking groups and other activities assigned to all staff. Assist in developing programs and resources that are responsive to the independent living needs of the families.
3. Monitor and assist in all duties related to Housing including timely assessments, monthly contacts and conducting Housing Readiness Groups.
4. Assist the Program Director in monitoring and tracking group and other activities assigned to Housing staff.
5. Work with Housing staff and Case Managers in maintaining a continuum of services in bridging the two units.
6. Assist the Program Director in implementing the State, Local, and Agency policies and procedures that govern Arbor Inn’s operations in CARES and manually.
7. Attend all staff meetings, in-service, and Agency meetings as required.
8. Be available by cell phone on a rotating basis with the Supervisor of Operations and Program Director.
9. Represent the Program Director and the Agency at assigned meetings, both in-house and in the community.
10. Provide backup oversight of the Program in the Program Director’s absence.
11. Oversee operations and maintenance functions of the Program.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
