Company Description
Since its debut in March 2018, the BCC has produced over 2000 shows featuring fearless and irreverent comedy from both up-and-coming, and top comedic talent. Notably, the BCC was the first major NYC comedy theater to pay its performers a significant cut of the box office, distinguishing them as a playground where experimentation and ingenuity are valued. The BCC survived and thrived during COVID, continuing to pay performers for online shows, and now produces over 24 shows a week between two venues in East Williamsburg: Eris Evolution (167 Graham Ave, Brooklyn), a two theater space, and the BCC Pig Pen (144 Boerum St). Annually, the BCC produces the "Fun & Dumb Festival," one of the largest improv festivals in the world, which the New York Times made the #1 pick of things to do this Summer in July in NYC, and which hosted 600 performers and 150 shows over 4-days. From 2021-2024, the BCC has featured over 50 shows as part of the NY Comedy Festival, and produced two iterations of Pitchfest" - featuring 12 ready for development pilots, some of which sold to major comedy networks. The BCC offers a wide array of classes in improv, sketch, stand-up and more - available year-round - as well as corporate shows and workshops teaching the skills of improvisation to businesses and organizations of all sizes. www.brooklyncomedy.com
