What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Brooklyn Bedding?
Brooklyn Bedding manufacturing in Glendale, AZ has a foam building in our state-of-the-art facility for our mattresses. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced machine operator interested in learning a new operation. The Machine Operator manages the machines for our foam pour team.
Responsibilities
· Collaboration with pour line operations team to cut foam for manufacturing team. The Machine Operator is responsible for cutting foam blocks into finished parts used for the mattress production team
· Set up necessary equipment in cutting machines to create each cut
· Work with foam and heavy machinery on a daily basis
· Use of airguns, drills, cutters, mallets and other equipment to perform a wide variety of machine operations
- Assist in setting up cuts for daily operations
- Operate all foam cut machinery
- Monitor and manage critical cut steps for foam loaves
- Disassemble clean and re-assemble machinery used for foam cuts
- Ensures raw materials are handled properly
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in department
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Previous machine operations experience
- Must be comfortable working around chemicals and adhere to industry leading safety policies and protocols.
- Must utilize proper PPE. Will be required to be fitted for and wear a respirator and pass annual required health and wellness testing
- Ability to become certified in Hazmat and Hazwopper (All certifications and training will be provided).
- You must be willing to work on a team as well as a self-directed individual contributor
- Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Experience operating heavy machinery in a manufacturing setting is REQUIRED.
