LE: CREDIT RECOVERY CLASSROOM COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years post high school education.
- Pass all employment screenings.
- Possess the ability and desire to work with children who need intervention in the regular classroom.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal(s)
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Credit Recovery Classroom Coordinator supports students in successfully recovering academic credit through an online learning platform. The coordinator creates a structured, supportive, and relationship-centered learning environment focused on student accountability, encouragement, progress monitoring, and individualized support. This position works closely with students, families, counselors, teachers, and administrators to help students remain engaged, overcome barriers, and successfully complete coursework needed for graduation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
TNormal duties are mostly sedentary at a keyboard; up and down motion in the classroom; bending; and lifting up to 20 lbs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build positive, respectful relationships with students that promote trust, motivation, and persistence.
- Establish a supportive classroom culture that encourages student responsibility, confidence, and academic growth.
- Monitor daily student participation, attendance, pacing, and progress within the online credit recovery platform.
- Assist students in setting academic goals and developing plans for successful course completion.
- Provide encouragement, redirection, and consistent follow-up to help students remain on task and engaged in coursework.
- Support students in developing organizational skills, time management, and independent work habits.
- Track student completion rates, assignment progress, grades, and intervention needs using established monitoring systems.
- Communicate regularly with counselors, administrators, teachers, and families regarding student progress and concerns.
- Identify students who are falling behind and implement intervention strategies to improve engagement and completion.
- Maintain accurate records related to student progress, attendance, and credit completion.
- Facilitate student onboarding and orientation to the online learning platform and classroom expectations.
- Supervise students during instructional periods and maintain an orderly, productive learning environment.
- Assist students with navigating technology platforms and accessing instructional resources.
- Encourage student self-advocacy and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with school staff to support graduation planning and student success initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with district policies and legal requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Position is a school-year position that follows the non-union classified employee handbook.
EVALUATION PROCEDURE:
This position will be evaluated annually by the building principal(s).
