Job Title: Community Technician
Location: Bronx, NY
Job Summary
The Community Technician is responsible for monitoring and controlling access to the building, ensuring a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors. This role serves as the primary on-site contact for EMS and Fire, and supports daily operations through accurate documentation and client identification processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the building entrance, screening all clients, visitors, and vendors.
- Create and issue client ID cards and maintain accurate records of active IDs.
- Maintain a visible, professional presence in the lobby and monitor site activity, reporting any safety or security concerns.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EMS and Fire, providing clear directions and necessary information during emergencies.
- Follow all building safety, emergency, and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain daily logs and incident reports as needed.
- Communicate promptly with supervisors and relevant staff regarding incidents, maintenance needs, or policy violations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in building security, residential services, social services, or front-desk/customer service preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to remain calm and professional in emergencies.
- Basic computer skills for logging incidents and creating ID cards; familiarity with access control systems a plus.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and respond quickly to emergency situations.
- CPR/First Aid and basic fire safety training preferred or willingness to obtain certifications after hire.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
