Position Summary

The Prevailing Wage Administrator is responsible for ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws and regulations across applicable projects. This role collaborates with vendors, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to oversee certified payroll processes, validate labor compliance, and support reporting requirements. The position serves as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, auditors, and governing bodies to ensure all labor standards and contractual obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Management

  • Interpret and apply prevailing wage laws, including the Davis-Bacon Act, state labor statutes, and local ordinances.
  • Ensure all projects comply with applicable wage determinations and labor classifications.
  • Monitor contractor adherence to prevailing wage requirements and contractual labor provisions.


Certified Payroll Administration

  • Review and audit certified payroll submissions for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Verify worker classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, and overtime calculations.
  • Identify discrepancies and coordinate with contractors to resolve issues in a timely manner.


Contract and Project Support

  • Support the integration of prevailing wage requirements into bid documents and contracts.
  • Provide guidance to project managers and procurement teams on labor compliance requirements.
  • Track wage determinations and applicable updates throughout the project lifecycle.


Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of payroll submissions, compliance reviews, and correspondence.
  • Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with audits and respond to requests for documentation or information.
  • Administer and support DOE 247 applications, ensuring accurate data management, document processing, workflow tracking, and regulatory compliance reporting.


Training and Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams and contractors on prevailing wage requirements and best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries.
  • Monitor changes in labor laws and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor compliance, payroll administration, or construction compliance.
  • Working knowledge of federal and/or state prevailing wage laws.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document management systems.


Preferred

  • Experience with union agreements and fringe benefit calculations.
  • Background in government-funded or public works projects.

Salary: $75,000-$95,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Bonus: Eligible for a 10% variable bonus program
