Tyrone Woods Manufactured Home Community in Fenton, Michigan is seeking a Michigan Certified Drinking Water Operator to serve as the Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) for our community well water system.
This is a flexible part-time/contract position responsible for ensuring our public water system remains compliant with all Michigan EGLE and Safe Drinking Water Act requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the certified Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable EGLE drinking water regulations.
- Perform or oversee required water sampling and testing.
- Prepare and submit required reports to EGLE.
- Maintain compliance records and operational logs.
- Monitor system performance and recommend maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Be available for occasional emergency response or regulatory inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Current Michigan Drinking Water Operator Certification qualified to operate a Type I Community Water System (D-3 classification or higher, as recognized by EGLE).
- Experience operating a public or community groundwater well system.
- Knowledge of EGLE drinking water regulations, sampling requirements, and compliance reporting.
- Valid Michigan driver's license.
Compensation is negotiable based on certifications, experience, and scope of services.
Independent operators, consultants, and retired certified water operators are encouraged to apply.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
