Middle School Tutor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and engaging Middle School Tutor to support students in their academic development. The ideal candidate will provide personalized instruction, foster a positive learning environment, and help students achieve their educational goals. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ lives while developing valuable teaching skills.

Duties

• Deliver one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in various middle school subjects, including math, science, language arts, and social studies
• Develop and adapt lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning styles
• Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance instruction and engagement
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, respectful environment conducive to learning
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure comprehensive student support

Skills

• Strong communication skills to effectively convey concepts and motivate students
• Experience tutoring or teaching middle school students in various subjects
• Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for fostering a supportive learning environment
• Experience working with students who have different educational backgrounds or special needs is a plus

Qualifications

• Valid State of Ohio Teaching/Tutoring License
• Successful BCI & FBI background checks
• Willing to work as a team member and participate in ongoing training and collaboration
• Willing to do duties as assigned by the building principal
