Duties
- Assist residents or clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using resident’s personal assistance devices.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals or family members.
- Serving meals.
- Assist with medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and compliance.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through companionship, engaging activities, and social interaction aligned with their preferences.
- Follow established care plans meticulously while documenting observations, interventions, and progress accurately for ongoing patient monitoring.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication assistance, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care is essential.
- Experience working with the senior population and demonstrates versatility in caregiving skills.
- Ability to safely assist with transfers with a one person assist if needed.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with healthcare teams and family members while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
