Overview
Brookdale Community College seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to teach Sculpture for the Fall 2025 semester. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of three-dimensional artmaking, emphasizing exploration of form, materials, and techniques within a contemporary context.
Responsibilities
- Introduce students to a range of sculpture techniques, tools, and materials, including traditional and non-traditional approaches.
- Provide foundational instruction in 3D concepts, including form, space, volume, and composition.
- Introduce concepts of sculptural form and aesthetics, connecting historical and contemporary sculptural practices.
- Ensure and enforce studio safety procedures when working with tools and equipment.
- Develop a course syllabus addendum aligned with department standards, including objectives, outcomes, and grading criteria.
- Hold office hours to support students outside of class.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Sculpture.
Experience:
- Relevant experience and expertise in sculpture processes and techniques.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to effectively teach fundamental 3D concepts and the safe use of relevant tools and materials.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to teaching excellence.
Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations:
- Prior teaching experience at the community college level.
- Experience with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
Pay Rate
