Location: Bronx, NYJob SummaryThe Community Technician is responsible for monitoring and controlling access to the building, ensuring a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors. This role serves as the primary on-site contact for EMS and Fire, and supports daily operations through accurate documentation and client identification processes.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and control access to the building entrance, screening all clients, visitors, and vendors.Create and issue client ID cards and maintain accurate records of active IDs.Maintain a visible, professional presence in the lobby and monitor site activity, reporting any safety or security concerns.Serve as the primary point of contact for EMS and Fire, providing clear directions and necessary information during emergencies.Follow all building safety, emergency, and evacuation procedures.Maintain daily logs and incident reports as needed.Communicate promptly with supervisors and relevant staff regarding incidents, maintenance needs, or policy violations.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Prior experience in building security, residential services, social services, or front-desk/customer service preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to remain calm and professional in emergencies.Basic computer skills for logging incidents and creating ID cards; familiarity with access control systems a plus.Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and respond quickly to emergency situations.CPR/First Aid and basic fire safety training preferred or willingness to obtain certifications after hire.F-02 (preferred)F-80 (preferred)Security Guard Licenses (preferred)
