Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for various month-end close duties, including account reconciliations, intercompany accounting and assisting with various internal and external financial reporting. This role partners closely with the Corporate Accounting Manager and cross-functional leaders to drive financial integrity, operational efficiency, and informed business decision-making.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Responsible for accounting and reconciliation of accruals (benefits, insurance, audit, legal, interest etc.)
- Prepare the monthly lease entry and provide the trial balance for reconciliation purposes
- Prepare the analysis and the coding for the monthly credit card activity.
- Prepare intercompany billings, allocations and reconciliations
- Responsible for bank account reconciliations
- Work with team to improve processes and gain efficiencies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of adjusting entries and accruals
- Assist with external audit including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills preferred
- Excellent analytical, organization, written and verbal communication
- Strong problem-solving skills to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable items
- Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Proactive and detail-oriented
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field required
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
