SENIOR ARCHITECT I

Brook Landscape, a Brooklyn-based landscape design-build agency specializing in urban outdoor environments, is seeking an experienced Senior Architect I to work on a range of high-end residential, commercial, and institutional projects. The right candidate has a keen interest in developing small spaces, with an eye on style, practical details, and timelessness. They are a well-organized multitasker and problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

·       Manage the design staff’s daily execution of project development and goals.

·       Oversee project phases from schematic design through construction documents with input from Principal Partners.

·       Act as liaison to clients, attending meetings and ensuring successful project delivery.

·       Administer municipal filings (NYC DOB), building submittals, and coordinate with consultants.

·       Resolve obstacles related to project delivery and client relationships.

·       Oversee selection and procurement of materials and fixtures in coordination with production and design teams.

·       Coordinate construction details between plan, section, and elevation.

·       Review designers’ drafting for coordination of project components prior to presentation to Principal Partners.

·       Review shop drawings, redlines, and coordinate execution.

·       Manage project finances including estimates, change orders, and profitability analysis.

·       Oversee production and presentation of proposals and estimates.

·       Manage subcontractor work schedules, budgets, payments, and quality.

·       Assist in other duties as assigned by Principal Partners and Directors.

Required Qualifications:

·       Minimum 7 years of experience within a NYC-based architecture firm.

·       Fluency in AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop (CNC and Fusion 360 a plus).

·       Flexible, collaborative approach to design and construction integration.

·       Demonstrated fabrication experience via portfolio.

·       Proficiency in Excel, Word, Google Workspace.

·       Strong hand drawing skills (perspective axonometric).

·       Local to NYC area and able to commute to our Brooklyn studio.

·       High-energy personality with a positive outlook on the present.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $110,000 annually
