Full job description
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Food Service Director/Supervisor, the food service aide works in conjunction with the cooks in preparing resident meal trays and special dietary requirements, along with serving food to residents, visitors, or staff.
- Perform duties in any of the following kitchen areas: Dining rooms, catering, cafeteria, resident’s
- Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient
- Adheres to Bronx Park Rehab & Nursing Center policies, procedures, rules and
and code of conduct.
- Stock, set and replenish kitchen.
- Prepare, portion, assemble and label resident, patient food items.
- Serve food and maintain supplies in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Pass and collect trays on resident patient floors.
- Clean and sanitize work area and equipment following established cleaning procedures and
- Assist with catering functions.
- Attend scheduled departmental meetings and in-services.
- Proper uniform and slip resistant shoes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Ability to read, write, speak and follow oral and written directions in English.
2. Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards.
3. Ability to respond appropriately to residents with special needs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Frequent exposure to refrigeration and freezer temperatures.
2. Frequent exposure to radiating heat.
3. Frequent lifting of boxes up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and /or carrying of objects.
4. Standing and walking for long periods of time for a significant part of the shift.
5. This position is required to work every weekend unless scheduled otherwise.
Compensation: $17- $18.50 per hour (based on experience)
Salary : $17 - $19
